With its low initial pH, it provides strong adhesive properties but requires careful application to prevent pulpal irritation, especially in cases where thin layers of dentine separate the cement from the pulp.

To ensure optimal results, it is essential to follow proper procedures and precautions. The powder-to-liquid ratio varies depending on its intended use: 1.0-1.3g of powder to 0.5ml of liquid for cement, and 1.2-1.5g of powder to 0.5ml of liquid for base applications. The mixing technique involves gradually incorporating the powder into the liquid until a plastic consistency is achieved, with a mixing time of approximately 90 seconds. Setting times range from 2.5 to 8 minutes for cement and 2 to 6 minutes for the base.
